Subject: [C4] The Weekend of Champions Date: Tue, 25 Aug 1998 19:10:25 -0500 From: balisane@mind.dolly.spring.okcomputer (Sola) Organization: sing a song of severance Newsgroups: alt.gothic Where to begin. Friday: Plane was a bit late. Brazen and I were picked up at the airport by Hellsop (hi, Peter!) and driven to the hotel in a white convertible with the top down. This was the beginning of my 72 hours of deafness. Discovered that most of the 40 or so bat bopper headbands i had made had broken on the flight. (Argh.) Missed the two pm tea. (Argh! I had a velvet bat stuffie that i'd made to give away. *weep.* ) Pissed some time away. Got to the club. Saw Machoistic Religion, my first live band ever. (Shame, really.) Desperately wished for a camera so i could have a shot of her (him? Still under debate.) reading from a burning book, which i found screamingly funny. Spent a vast portion of the night looking for Yosa, and finally found her. Discovered that wearing a white chemise and skirt and a purple corset is a great advantage in meeting people in a goth club. ("Oh, she's right over *there*, can't miss her.") Skinned my knee falling off the last stair to the dancefloor level in the opera house ,and was helped up by some random kind folks. Saturday was a blur. (Yes, i was sober, thank you, and was the whole weekend. ;)) Went shopping with the Black Day goth gaggle. Didn't spend a whole lot.. got some dead chip boards and eyeballs from a geek shop, a big ugly Spawn figure, my first kinder egg, and some gummi maggots. Amused myself by lacing Zastur and Leo into their respective corsets. (the laces for Zastur's were so long that he was hanging onto the nightstand, and i was across the room by the dresser.). Decided i didn't like the opera house so much, but the bands more than made up for it. Sunday: Oh, wonderous, wonderous. Didn't get to go to Casa Loma, but had an adventure, anyway. Lusted after and tasted practially everything at the Marche. Adored the venue. Propped up drunk people. Regretted not dancing and playing pool. Regetted not staying later. (left a bit after one, being rather tired. *ought*to*have*stayed*) Got my relationship issue resolved. Got a present from Sheryl. (boing!) In general had Big Fun. Side notes: Frossi and RazorJAK need to be outlawed. They're just too cute and perky to live. There were a pair of gothlings who shared our fright whom we didnt' get to meet.. so if you were on VASP airlines, flight 888 and/or 889, email us. There was a chick with a short blonde mohawk whom i first saw Sunday night, and a time or two thereafter, who i meant to stop and complement, but was too sleep-depped to do so. The same goes for a girl with a long fall of natural, curly orange-red hair and a red handkerchief hem skirt. I wanted to take them both and put them in music boxes. More side notes: Marge is a force of nature. I was the one who said Tetsab was totally charming. Axel and Grimm need thanks for helping me find people. Must have seen Ladybee half a dozen times and didn't actually meet her. Apparently missed all the really fun after- and side gatherings. (*sob*) Was the only person who did not get snogged, molested, followed, hung on, or lusted after. (Small gods and bigger demons, i've never seen such libidos. Did you all remember to breathe?) Dicovered that it was a good thing that i'd decided not to wear my contacts all weekend, since apparently, i brought all the associated things, and left the contacts themselves sitting on a side table in their cleaning solution. Ooops. dreams of the City, Sola 14 hours of sleep and i'm feelin' fine. ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^ I still say high technology should be kept out of the hands of the Perkygoths, its like giving Fraggles free reign over the power of the Atom. --Jeff-boy
